Maestro Luigi Suvini
Luigi Suvini is a skilled and experienced violin teacher and conductor who graduated from the Conservatorio ‘Giuseppe Verdi’ of his native town, Milan in Italy, where he majored in Advanced Violin Performance and Advanced Composition. After studying for nine years at the Conservatorio, he graduated with a First Class Masters Degree and the Italian title of ‘Maestro’. He taught at the Accademia Sondriese and the Conservatorio 'G. Niccolini' in Piacenza, Italy. Luigi then moved to London where he studied with Professor Robert Saxton at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and gained a ‘Postgraduate Diploma in Composition’. At the Royal College of Music, he was awarded a ‘Postgraduate Diploma in Conducting’ and won the Augustus Mann Conducting Competition. Luigi is also a qualified Suzuki Method Violin Teacher and Member of the British Suzuki Institute, having graduated with the highest level (level 5). He has performed solo violin, violin concertos and chamber music concerts at venues in Italy and London, some of which were recorded by the Italian State Radio and BBC Radio 3. He has also held concert master positions with Italian and English orchestras. With his own orchestra - the Dallapiccola Ensemble - he has produced a CD of the music of Luigi Dallapiccola, and organized a plethora of concerts and conferences devoted to the promotion of Italian Instrumental Music in London.



In London, he worked for over 13 years with eminent figures, such as Sheila Nelson, Emmanuel Hurwitz and Christopher Bunting, motivating and inspiring young children to make music individually and collectively. He currently teaches at a number of independent schools in Surrey, England, and has a private Violin School at Virginia Water, Surrey. As well as studying the Suzuki repertoire, his students are entered regularly for the Associated Board of the Royal School of Music Examinations. The students include his own 3 children who achieved Distinction at LRSM at a very young age and numerous top prizes and awards on the national and international circuits of violin-playing.

The students of the Luigi Suvini Violin School range in age from 3 to 20. Many of them have won music scholarships to prestigious independent schools in the UK.
Luigi's late father, Maestro Emilio Suvini, was a teacher at the Conservatorio Giuseppe Verdi in Milan, and a conductor of national and international reputation (see page 3).
